Smart Phones and tablets are the most wanted gadgets of the international market. One after another products are released every day to compete against the rest. Samsung has recently uncovered its latest Galaxy Note 2, giving users in various counties another option to splurge on in the market of smartphone. With a size bigger than other smartphones, the Galaxy Note 2 is seen as a mixture of phone and a tablet and therefore is widely been called a phablet.

Launched amidst tough competition from Apple’s iPhone 5, which broke all sales records of previous iPhones, Samsung Galaxy Note 2 can also see Samsung Galaxy S3 as competition as it has been a bestseller smartphone so far. Today, we will compare Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 against each other, which will help you make a decision whether you should buy Samsung Galaxy S3 or Note 2. If you have been choosing between these 2 gadgets and wondering ‘should I Buy Samsung Galaxy S3 or Note 2?‘ read on…

1. Size Matters

One of the most prominent differences between a Galaxy Note2 and Galaxy S3 is the size and the weight of both products. The size of Galaxy Note 2 measures roughly about 150×80.5×9.4mm, whereas Galaxy S3 is roughly 136×70.6×8.6mm. It’s slightly thinner than Note 2, but the length and width differ considerably. Thankfully for Samsung, the huge size of Galaxy Note 2 has not deterred people from using the device to make phone calls, even though Samsung Galaxy S III is a far more proper smartphone option.

If the bigger screen and stylus fit into your life – and you don’t mind your pocket being full – then the Note 2 is excellent. But if handwriting on your phone doesn’t appeal, the Samsung Galaxy S3 offers 95 percent of the Note, but in a smaller, easier to hold package.

Yet in terms of RAM Note 2 (2GB) leaves Galaxy S 3(1GB) miles behind having twice as much RAM than the latter.

4. The Brain of a Smart Phone is its Processor

There are a lot of people out there who live for great processing power and Note 2 satisfies their needs to the utmost extent. Having Exynos 4412 quad-core Cortex-A9 system-on-a-chip, it also comes with a Mali 400 MP4 graphics card. Although, S3 come with the same specifications, but it lacks the clockwork of 1.6GHz that Note 2 possesses; it clocks at 1.4GHz.

5. It’s all about Software

Though, both the devices belong to the same manufacturer, Note 2 runs on the OS – 4.1 Jelly Bean, whereas S3 is left behind and runs on Operating System 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

6. Camera, Click! Click!

Both smart phones have the same 8.0 megapixel rear camera and it is their front cameras where you can spot the difference. S3 has a 2.0 megapixel and Note 2 has a 1.9 megapixel camera, whereas both the devices have HD video recording.

7. Battery

When it comes to Battery, S3’s 2100 mAh battery loses hands down against Note 2’s 3100 mAh battery.

8. Connecting the World

When we look at the connectivity, both the devices rank equally. Both have Bluetooth, HDMI out via adapters, Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n), microUSB and support USB. However, Note 2 supports LTE, which will give it a higher rank amongst UK customers when 4G begins in United Kingdom.

9. Price

At last, we come to the price of the two devices. You can get a Galaxy S3 unlocked for $500 and Note 2 at $750. The prices may vary from network to network.

10. Which one to Buy?

At the end of the day both devices rank fairly well and choosing one over the other is hard though it is made easier when you know what you’re looking for. Both the devices are designed to meet the requirements of people from different sets of life. This factor makes both the devices a commendable effort of Samsung’s part.
